Overview
The 2026 Ford Edge is the final year of production for this nameplate. Ford announced the Edge's discontinuation to focus resources on Explorer, Bronco, and future EV nameplates.
The Edge occupies a position between the Escape and Explorer β a 2-row mid-size crossover with available AWD and a practical 2.0L EcoBoost engine. It competes (in its final year) with the Nissan Murano and Chevrolet Blazer.

Powertrain
EPA highway rating measured at 55 mph. Real-world highway at 70 mph is typically 27β29 mpg. Towing near max capacity reduces highway fuel economy 23β33% β budget accordingly for trailer trips.
All 2025 Edge trims use the 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder (250 hp, 280 lb-ft). A 8-speed automatic is standard; FWD or AWD is available.
Fuel economy is solid at 22 city / 29 hwy in FWD β reasonable for the class. Tow capacity of 3,500 lb handles a small boat or utility trailer.
Discontinued Note
Space & Practicality
Cargo behind the rear seat reaches 39.2 cubic feet β slightly more than the Escape and competitive with class rivals. Maximum cargo volume (seats folded) is 73.4 cu ft.
The Edge seats five with reasonable legroom in both rows. It's larger inside than the Escape but smaller than the Explorer.

Tech & Buyer Advice
SYNC 4 with 13.2-inch touchscreen (SEL+) is a genuine strength β the same screen in the Explorer and F-150. Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto standard on SEL+.
Buyer's note: With the Edge being discontinued, resale value will likely decline faster than its competitors. Consider certified pre-owned Explorer or Bronco Sport as alternatives with stronger long-term value.
